The Message Canvas Bible – Bible Review
Every time that you pick up your Bible, do you long for God to you in a profoundly personal way? Do you hunger for God’s Word to come alive to you on every page of your Bible? Do you seek out quiet spaces and bold places to respond to the message that He is whispering in your ear each day?
If so, you are going to love The Message Canvas Bible: Coloring And Journaling The Story Of God just as I do!
The Message Canvas Bible comes in two beautiful versions: the elegant leather-look, gold-leaf edition and the stunning, fabric-covered Spring Palette Hardcover edition that’s aflame with bright bursts of greens, oranges and golds as featured here!
Inside you’ll find a beautiful presentation page that’s spotlights this Bible’s theme verse from Isaiah 40 (verse numbers are not provided in this edition of The Message):
He stretches out the skies like a canvas.
This Bible is written in the Message translation by Eugene Peterson – a vibrant paraphrase that was written by a contemporary pastor for today’s church so that you can experience the message and emotion of Scripture in today’s modern and colloquial language. It’s the perfect devotional Bible to complement your studies and to connect with God on a heart-to-heart-level!
As a creative Christian, what I love most about The Message Canvas Bible is that it gives us the opportunity to reflect and meditate on God’s Word as we color and journal our way through the Bible. The more ways we find to engage with God and His Word, the more time we find ourselves wanting to spend with our Lord – and this Bible certainly invites us to spend quality time with God again and again!
One of the things I particularly like about this Bible is how it’s designed. There are quiet pages that contain God’s Word only plus spacious margins where I can be alone with my thoughts to jot down prayers, praises, study notes – whatever comes to mind.
There are also pages filled with beautiful artwork – with and without Scripture – that allow me to soak and meditate on Scripture or on the verses that God is writing upon my heart.
Even the artwork itself brings Scripture to mind! For example, one of the themes that I noticed running throughout the artwork were vines, which reminded me of John 15:1-3 (The Message):
I am the Real Vine and my Father is the Farmer. He cuts off every branch of me that doesn’t bear grapes. And every branch that is grape-bearing he prunes back so it will bear even more. You are already pruned back by the message I have spoken.
Ever since The Message Canvas Bible has arrived in my home, I’ve had a hard time stepping away from it: I feel so at peace every time I open up this Bible, sit down to color, and just spend quality time with my Savior!
There are now many wonderful options on the market today when it comes to coloring and journaling, but The Message Canvas Bible has quickly become one of my favorites coloring/journaling Bibles (and it is hands-down my favorite version of the Message translation!)
I rate this Bible 5 out of 5 stars.

That is totally awesome and I’ve been trying to get me one of these for months now. It sure would fill up my time instead of sitting around at the computer 24/7… Thanks for sharing. I didn’t know they were doing it on the canvas now too! That’s really great!
